Savita Marathe

I was a teacher at Maharashtra Mitra Mandal before I got married. I went to China for the Asian games training. I participated in Asian games at National level in 1982. During my training, I saw small girls being trained for gymnastics in China and that is when I decided to coach children. Due to family responsibilities, I had to take a break from gymnastics for 5 years. Later I started an academy at Katariya High School where I trained children. I have been teaching gymnastics for the last 25 years. My love for children made me start this academy. I have been a National champion for 5 years. Six of my players are national champions while 3 of my players have won awards for Maharashtra State. Most of my players have participated in World Cup, Asian Championships and Commonwealth Games. I coach students from the age group of 4 years to 21 years. Gymnastics is everyone’s cup of tea. There are certain criteria for it. One of which is being physically fit. I undertake camps as well.
